How romance works.

Everything about getting in, names, badges, invites, co-ops, romance+ and the bot, in one place.

Getting in

romance is invite-only. There are three ways in.

  • A friend on romance sends you an invite link. You skip the waiting list.
  • Request a spot at romance.rip/request with your Discord. Staff lets people in from there.
  • Email hello@romance.rip or message @zaifying on Discord.

If you sign up with a normal code, staff checks your sign-up first. Connecting Discord on the waiting screen makes it faster, but you can skip it.

Your name

Names use a to z, 0 to 9, dots and underscores, from 2 to 20 characters. They start and end with a letter or number.

Changing itOnce every 30 days, or every 7 with romance+. Your old name sends people to the new one for 90 days.
AliasesExtra names that open the same page. romance+ gets 5.
Two letters or two numbersNames like aa or 00 need lifetime romance+. Mixed ones like c8 are free.
One letterAsk in Dashboard → Account → One-letter names. You need a 7 day old account, an avatar, 2 links, 100 views, Discord linked and in the server, and romance.rip in your Discord status, Discord bio or Yapper bio.
UIDYour number in join order. romance.rip/uid/2 opens whoever is number 2.

Badges

Some badges come by themselves, some you earn, and the rest are given by staff. Earned ones show up within the hour and you get a note when one lands. Night owl is the hardest: open your dashboard between 3 and 4am on 100 different nights. Your count is under Dashboard → Badges. You can reorder or hide any of them in Dashboard → Badges, and change their colour, glow and motion there too.

Invites

Staff hands out invites now and then, and some come from giveaways. You find them in Dashboard → Overview.

Invite linksEach link works once. People who join with it skip the waiting list.
Your own codeBring in 5 people and you can pick your own code, like romance.rip/join/yourname. 5 more people can join with it.
Invite treeEveryone has a public tree at romance.rip/tree/name. Switch it off in Account → Privacy.
Be carefulIf someone you invited gets banned, you get a warning. At 3 warnings your unused invites are taken back.

Co-ops

A co-op is a shared page for a partner or friends, at an address you pick both words of, like romance.rip/us/love.

  • One partner co-op and up to 5 friend co-ops.
  • Two profiles side by side with a pixel icon between them, or one shared profile you both edit.
  • Both get the full Look, Effects and Sound settings.

romance+

romance+ is €2.99 once, for life (€3.99 after November 7). Almost everything on romance is free, romance+ is the extra.

NamesTwo-letter and two-number names, 5 aliases, a rename every 7 days.
LooksDither your picture, pixel name, 3D chrome name, mood light, night look with a Day and Night switch in the dashboard, live look per Discord status, beat sync, phone tilt, two pixel pets at once and the shiny pet skins.
RoomBigger uploads, more sections and songs, a year of stats, your own Discord embed, no promo pill.
PayingCrypto in the romance+ popup in your dashboard, or PayPal friends and family in a ticket.

Connections

DiscordDashboard → Connections. Get a code, then /link it in the server. Shows your status, Spotify, server tag, avatar decoration and Discord badges.
RobloxUp to 5 verified accounts, shown as cards, a grid or avatars.
YapperConnect it and show your Yapper profile as a card.
Last.fmConnect Spotify or Apple Music to Last.fm first, then add a Last.fm block to show what you play live.
GitHubA repo card, or your profile with your best repos and languages.

Discord bot

The romance bot lives in the romance server.

/link codeLinks your Discord to your page.
/lookupShows a page by name, by Discord user or by UID. Empty shows yours.
/heart nameGives a page a heart.
/allow nameLets a page show your Discord card.
/hide nameTakes your Discord card off a page.
/report nameReports a page to staff.
/suggest ideaSends an idea to the team.
Right-click → romance pageOpens someone’s page from their Discord profile.

Your badges also turn into Discord roles in the server. They sync by themselves every 10 minutes.

Privacy

romance doesn’t store IP addresses. Views are counted with a code that changes every day. You choose what shows: views, hearts, UID, location, viewers, invite tree and whether apps can read your page.

You can download everything from Dashboard → Settings, or delete your account there. Full details are in the privacy policy.

For developers

There’s a read-only API for bots and sites. Keys are checked by staff. Everything is at romance.rip/developers.
